Position Purpose
This is a full time onsite role. The Senior Manager, M&A Client Engagement & Deal Operations owns the day-to-day operating rhythm and client experience across Cannar M&A engagements in North America and Europe. Working closely with the M&A Partners, the Senior manager becomes the principal coordination and communication contact for prospective and engaged sellers and buyers from lead handover and onboarding through information exchange, meetings, transaction milestones and closing coordination.

Important scope distinction
The position does not perform or independently approve technical M&A work. Valuation, financial modelling, transaction structure, negotiation strategy, due-diligence conclusions, and legal, tax or accounting advice remain with the M&A Partners and appointed professional advisors.
Primary Outcomes
· Sellers, buyers and referral partners receive a clear, professional and consistent experience throughout the process.
· M&A Partners enter every meeting fully briefed and can focus on advice, commercial judgement and negotiation.
· Meeting notes, action lists, information requests, approvals and transaction milestones are complete, current and visible.
· Internal research, sourcing, marketing and administrative teams work to clear briefs, deadlines and quality standards.
· Confidential information is handled carefully, shared only through approved channels and maintained under strong version control.
· Potential delays, missed commitments or sensitive client issues are identified and escalated early.
Key Responsibilities1. Lead Handover, Qualification Support & Onboarding
· Receive qualified seller, buyer and investor leads from sourcing, research, marketing and referral channels and establish the internal deal file.
· Review the existing seller/buyer company report, identify missing information and prepare a concise partner briefing before the first meeting.
· Coordinate introductory calls, agendas, participants, time-zone logistics and pre-read materials across North America and Europe.
· Guide prospective clients through the administrative onboarding process, including collection, routing and tracking of approved engagement documents, NDAs, MOUs, questionnaires and other required records.
· Set expectations regarding process, communication cadence, responsibilities and next steps without providing technical advice or making unapproved commitments.
2. Client & Counterparty Communication
· Act as the primary day-to-day communication contact for assigned sellers, buyers and other approved stakeholders.
· Maintain regular, well-judged contact to provide status updates, request information, confirm next steps and preserve momentum throughout the mandate.
· Draft clear emails, updates and follow-ups for partner review where the message contains commercial, strategic or transaction-sensitive content.
· Manage sensitive conversations with discretion, empathy and professionalism, recognizing that many SME transactions are personally significant to owners.
· Escalate complaints, delays, negotiation issues, confidentiality concerns and other material matters promptly to the responsible Partner and General Manager.
3. Meetings, Notes & Follow-Through
· Attend prospect, onboarding, seller, buyer, investor and transaction meetings unless otherwise directed by the responsible Partner.
· Prepare the agenda, participant list and briefing materials; confirm objectives and any decisions required from the meeting.
· Produce concise post-meeting notes capturing key facts, interests, concerns, decisions, commitments, action owners and due dates—normally within 24 hours.
· Obtain Partner approval where appropriate, circulate the final follow-up and monitor all actions to completion.
· Maintain a reliable record of discussions and commitments in the CRM and relevant engagement folders.
4. Transaction Workflow & Closing Coordination
· Maintain an end-to-end deal plan for each engagement, including milestones, dependencies, information requests, meetings, approvals and responsible parties.
· Coordinate document and information flow among clients, potential counterparties, M&A Partners, lawyers, accountants, lenders and other approved advisors.
· Arrange secure document exchange and data-room access; maintain naming conventions, permissions, version control and an orderly audit trail.
· Track buyer/seller questions, responses and outstanding items, ensuring technical questions are routed to the appropriate Partner or advisor.
· Coordinate logistics for offers, indications of interest, letters of intent, due diligence, definitive documentation and closing, while leaving technical review and commercial decisions to the responsible professionals.
· Immediately highlight stalled actions, inconsistent information, missed deadlines or matters that could affect trust, confidentiality or transaction momentum.
5. Reports, Briefing Packs & Information Materials
· Prepare and maintain standardized business insight reports on prospective sellers, buyers, acquisition targets and investors using Cannar M&A's established templates.
· Coordinate the creation, review and updating of meeting briefs, company profiles, teasers, buyer/seller summaries, information request lists and other approved transaction materials.
· Gather inputs from internal research, sourcing and M&A teams; check materials for completeness, consistency, plain language, branding and factual accuracy.
· Ensure all external information packs are approved by the responsible Partner before release and that confidential information is disclosed only in accordance with the relevant NDA and process instructions.
6. Internal Team Coordination
· Translate Partner instructions into clear briefs for research, sourcing, marketing and administrative team members, including deliverables, deadlines and quality expectations.
· Coordinate priorities across multiple live mandates and ensure that work reaches the responsible Partner in time for review and client use.
· Run short internal deal-progress reviews, confirm ownership of next steps and maintain a single current source of status information.
· Support the General Manager in improving templates, checklists, communication standards, onboarding steps and transaction workflows.
7. Marketing & Lead-Support Activities
· Work with Partners and the marketing team to develop and coordinate approved social-media advertising and outreach campaigns aimed at sellers, buyers and investors.
· Prepare campaign briefs, coordinate copy and supporting information, monitor lead handover and ensure prompt, professional follow-up.
· Help maintain consistent messaging across advertisements, landing pages, outreach emails and company information materials.
· Provide practical feedback on lead quality, frequently asked questions and market responses to improve future campaigns.
8. Management Reporting & Process Discipline
· Maintain accurate CRM records, contact histories, meeting notes, trackers, approval records and document repositories.
· Provide concise weekly reporting to the Founding Partners and General Manager on pipeline movement, active mandates, next milestones, overdue items, risks and required decisions.
· Track service and process measures, identify recurring bottlenecks and recommend practical improvements.
· Protect confidential and personal information and follow Cannar M&A's policies, contractual obligations and applicable communication and privacy procedures.
Decision Rights & Escalation Boundaries
The Senior manager is authorized to:
· Take day-to-day decisions subject to the approval of partners.
· Schedule meetings, manage routine communications, request agreed information and follow up on approved actions.
· Coordinate internal resources, maintain transaction plans and propose practical solutions to process or timing issues.
· Share only those materials that have been approved and only with authorized recipients through approved channels.
Partner or professional-advisor approval is required before:
· Communicating valuation, pricing, deal structure, negotiation positions or recommendations.
· Accepting, rejecting or varying an offer, LOI, engagement term or other commercial commitment.
· Providing legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, due-diligence or investment advice.
· Releasing confidential or personally sensitive information outside the approved disclosure process.
Experience, Skills & Personal AttributesRequired Experience
· Typically 10+ years of progressive experience in client service, transaction coordination, project management, deal operations or engagement management within professional services or another high-trust commercial environment.
· Supervise at least one direct report, providing guidance, performance oversight, and ongoing coaching to support individual and team success.
· Demonstrated experience coordinating several complex, deadline-driven client engagements at the same time.
· Strong experience communicating directly with business owners, senior executives, investors or other sophisticated stakeholders.
· Experience producing high-quality meeting notes, briefing papers, reports, presentations and structured follow-up communications.
· An MBA from a recognized university or business school is required.
Preferred Background
· Experience in M&A advisory, business brokerage, investment banking, private equity, accounting, legal services, consulting, corporate finance or commercial transactions.
· International work experience is an advantage, particularly experience working across North American and European business cultures and time zones.
· Exposure to social-media advertising, lead-management workflows or professional-services marketing.
· A project-management qualification and/or proficiency in another European language would be an advantage.

Transaction completion is a shared team outcome and should not be treated as the Director's sole performance measure; the role is primarily accountable for client experience, coordination quality, information control and process momentum.

Compensation & Benefits
The selected candidate will receive the following compensation and benefits:
- Gross Monthly Salary: PKR 200,000.
- Performance-Based Commission: A commission of 0.5% of the total deal value will be paid for each qualifying transaction, in accordance with the Company's commission policy and applicable eligibility criteria.
- Professional Development Support: Access to a shared monthly professional development and book allowance of PKR 20,000 for the M&A team, to support continuous learning, skill enhancement, and professional growth.
